I used hellions once. Very situational and would most likely not recommend.

The instance I used it was in a competitive game. I was on T4, with T2 and T3 being good players. T1 was decent but weak tier 1 & 2 units. I went hellions while I still had around 50-60 marauders.

Kept marauders safe to put pressure on mid. Saved hellions and went invis into T1 enemy base. Hellions worked due to unit surround.

Used hellions for a fair bit of time but went right to thors.

Lol I almost never rage quit that early. Also as long as you are not a total noob you will make back money on your ghosts.

Trick is to not snipe the units you are fighting, but weak units across the map. It requires such little extra micro that I’m not sure why more players don’t do it.

Nobody is saying you need 2 ghosts to win vs Darth, it’s just the best way to beat that hero.

Also, I mostly choose to not tech up at 8:30 if you see me do that. Sometimes it is worth it to buy that early sceptor or reapers vs teaching tier 1 with no ups.



Unrelated but so many random names replying in these threads. Do any of you actually play the game? If so under what names.

yea his ult is glitchy. When I first used it, I cancelled it early. Next  time I used it, never worked. Almost like when you turn off siege mode before ult ends, next time you ult it brings you back to that same state.

You need to sprock your base. If you have tier 5 and dont push on your enemy, you let them build up army and allow them to void seeker.

Raptor. Take a moment to look at your win loss history. You mostly win games yes, but the games you win typically last around 20-30 minutes. The games you lose are mostly around 50 minutes+

What does this mean? You generally only win noob lobbies where you 2-3 stack vs non vets. All the games you lose are longer, more even vet lobbies.

You and GLHF haven't won an actual competitive lobby in idk how long.

Tenken is 10x better than you imo

Stalkers are not the problem. I wouldn't change them imo.

My tier decision is the following:

Long vet game: zerg
Medium game with no stun: protoss
Medium game with stun: terran
Short game: terran

Stalkers are great yes, but there are times when they put you at a great disadvantage. If you push into someones base with PDD and they have stalkers, stalkers attack too slow causing the PDD to last fairly long, giving you enough time to base without getting hurt.

Incinerate, for Flav you should replace banish.

My suggestion would be to replace banish with an area of effect buff (similar to QoB armor buff) where it increases unit damage dealt and reduces damage taken by spells.

For Karass, I agree he is weak but his ult is useful and barely any players know how to use it right.

Dehaka also isn't that great but not sure what to buff. I think his healing spell could be buffed a bit. Maybe add a static hp regen aura in addition to the castable healing spell.

Serebii (sp?) is fine imo. Only area that I would tweak is increasing base strength. Hero is stupidly weak if there is a blade on the map.

I like the Templar idea. Could make him a semi viable hero. But my favorite suggestion was to make the silence ability equal to the Farseer silence, where at level 6 it silences units in the area. Would make for some very interesting plays and again would make templar somewhat useful. Shouldn't be too hard to implement.

For Queen, I think you should get rid of single unit healing and replace it with a raven healing drone like ability. That way Queen can act as a proper unit support hero.

I think it is bruta > col > tank.

Tanks are only really good vs the lower tiers IMO. I haven't played a late game in a while, but I generally prefer bruta and col over tanks.

Although I wouldn't buff tanks in response to this, just nerf brutas slightly.

One reason why brutas are incredible strong is how they work with the voidseeker mechanic.

In a late game, where units are massed in bases, you can fill a void seeker up and go into enemy base. Once the void seeker is destroyed, the brutas all drop in one singular spot. As brutas do area of effect damage, and they are all stacked on top of each other, the AoE damage stacks.

When you go into full bases like this, the brutas essentially instantly kill everything they drop on and do great damage as they spread out.

If you were to do the same with tanks, they need to essentially reposition before they can attack properly.

Again, that is working as intended but just another reason as to why I find brutas too strong and tanks weaker.

Col are 2nd best because they can walk over units. Once you mass col, you sit with speed and invis and once the other player makes a move you can base snipe ez.

Brutas are too strong vs tanks. I will try to find the vod but I had beatings + mega healing drone tanks vs brutas, and brutas still won.

And that late in game, void seeker is easy to get, so void + brutas ends the game almost every time.

I'll have to play a custom with the hero to provide any valuable input, but from what I can tell auras are generally a BAD idea.

When you have a hero with an aura vs a hero without an aura, the player with the aura will win almost every fight. Especially if I'm reading it right.

In my opinion, auras are fine but make them temporary like Butch roar. But keep it like an aura that only lasts for X seconds and drains X energy. There needs to be some limit here.

If you get a shit hero and you are playing against heroes with auras it will be very hard for you to win. I don't mind that some heroes are better than others, but auras are pushing it.

In my opinion, the amount of games that make it to late game are slim. I would rather you focus your efforts on balancing the game more in the early stages than make it more interesting later on.

Personally, once a game hits over 1.5 hours I get bored and want to end it, which is basically when the game naturally ends now in the current meta.

As I've said before many times, there are some current hereos that need to get revamped or removed. My biggest problem is that Artanis shouldn't exist as a hero. My win rate with artanis is almost 100% and if you get him in a vet lobby you basically win.

There are also some heroes which are basically a free loss. Templar is a good example, Queen and Flav another. The nature of how some heroes alter the game need to be changed.

If you are able to tweak these heroes and fix the meta in the early to mid game, I think that will be much more useful than changing the late game.

Haven't played in a minute, but tier 5 is unbalanced. From when I last played, brutas are still way too strong. They obliterate tanks and still crush col.

Their base stats vs the other two t5 units are still way off. Their health alone is still fucked.

If it is tanks vs brutas, brutas will win 100% of the time. Brutas will still beat col the majority of the time. Basically right now in the current meta, if everyone has tier 5, brutas win.

Fix basic unit scaling before you dive into anything deeper imo

Support is probably the role people understand the least, and one I often gravitate to the most.

My decision to play support is based on two factors. Who is on my team and what hero do I have.

The best support heroes in my opinion are as follows:

Cattle
Chuck
Tychus
Carine
Nitro

Early game as support, you need to be buying sceptors on cooldown. When I'm chuck, nitro or carine, I try to combo my Z and sceptor as often as possible on the biggest threat. In vet lobbies, heroes typically level up quicker than units tier up, so you will have a level 7-9 hero when units have around 550 to 710hp. This is the sweet spot as your Z and sceptor will be able to kill all the units in range.

If you are going against inexperienced players (like Raptor) who group up their weak units, this gives you the perfect opportunity to make a lot of money and quickly level up your hero.

Something important to note with sceptors is you just need to make back your initial investment of 425. If you think of that, it is only 10 tier 2 units. Them biggest benefit of using a sceptor is the increased XP at the start.

Point defense drones are probably the 2nd most important item as a support player. They are especially valuable if you are chuck & cattle and can combo it with stun/flashbang. For example, if stalkers blink to kill your hero, you pop PDD and either flashbang or stun. This effectively renders the enemy units useless and allows your teammate to finish them off.

Some vet games I?ve only put one point into his ult because it wasn?t needed. If you?re not going to save for blink dagger I wouldn?t put all the points in the ult. His auras are that OP.

I would rather have no ally than raptor on my team. He is actually quite a large disadvantage early game as he pulls back all of his units, causing you to lose map control and forcing your units to tank the other teams.

Funny how after all these years he still doesn?t know how to play properly. Or with an APM of 150+ can?t even manage to micro a ghost. Or understand how strong EMP is. Lol.

Libs are not the most pressing issue imo. Your team did not invest in any vikings, only dropping some stalks to try and kill so there was more you could have done.

If we were to fix liberators, I would just allow more units be able to target them. The fact that only 1/3 of units can hit them make them the most broken.

I agree ult sceptor sound should be removed. I didn't agree with it being put in, and it just promotes stale games early on. With no ult sceptor sound, you need to pay attention to the other teams and their actions. You need to pay attention to your units, how they are stored in your base and be careful not to mass too much. Having sound makes it easier to be lazy.

Mothership core should 100% be able to be targeted by fish ability.

I also agree speed scrolls shouldn't have timer on it.

The biggest problem with the game currently is the heroes. How more people are not complaining about this is beyond me. Some heroes have a 90% win rate for me and others not even 50%.

I've found there are generally 3 tiers of hereos, and if you get a game with tier 1 heroes and tier 3 heroes its basically an auto gg.

It is near impossible for the Flavs, Karras' & Queens of the world to compete with heroes like Chuck, QoB & Artanis. The fact that some heroes alter the game mechanics / armies (think Chuck stun or Pally aura) and other heroes do jack shit (ie. Flav's Z) makes the game majorly broken.

Granted in most lobbies I can outplay most people with Flav, but in vet lobbies the difference is staggering.

For the game to be more balanced and even paced, each team needs to stay as even as possible. If one team has good heroes, they will get ahead and the snowball effect begins. They will maintain their advantage the longer they stall and the other teams won't be able to engage as they are behind.

By balancing out the heroes (either balance or remove the shit tier heroes), the game will be more even thus creating a more even and engaging playing field.

I've said it 100 times before to Incinerate, I will learn editor and fix the heroes myself, just need access.

I find cattle one of the best comeback heroes if you have another competent team member. With libs and flashbang, you can control quite a bit of the map.

Larry is good but not a T1 or hyper carry. He has micro most of us can?t compete with but lacks strategy and game knowledge. Definitely a threat if paired with another vet but can fall behind if solo in some lobbies.

I?m guessing you might be Auto? I?ve seen Auto around but nothing special. Would need to play in more games with him to comment any differently.

Sugar is great but isn?t a diverse player as some other vets.

Someone might be one of the top wild card players imo. Pulls some moves way out of left field.

Moma has been weak lately but I think that is due to his shitty mouse. I haven?t played much recently so not sure if it is fixed.

The key is to pull back all of your units at start to fuck your teammates and lose positioning. That always helps.

Never played with Ninerva, but I would swap him out for Pride and that would be my lineup.

Both pride and Kiley are better with units than me, leaving me to play support.

Imo not enough people know how to properly play support in a team setting, and that is where they fall short.

That fix for Karass should be good. He is a fairly useless hero in vet lobbies now.

Also, I?ve said this before but I think Tassadar should be classified like sheep where you can?t -repick into Tass. Nothing worse than getting into a vet lobby and getting stuck with Tass.

Pride, I get what you?re saying and agree to some extent. My only problem with that is when you base someone they should lose vision. If I invest in knocking out one enemy, I value creating that empty space in their base to allow for better future attacks.

So maybe if someone leaves, their base still stands but can still be based by the enemy. Wonder if that would be possible to implement.

Mothership core is not immune to spell damage, ie cattle can easily 2 shot it. I agree, increasing mothership core health along with energy regen should be helpful in increasing pace of play.

Liberator price increase to 500 should be good.

Adding that silence to Templar would bring him up to par with a number of the better heroes.

Sure, nothing may be overly wrong with him right now, but if you place him against Chuck or Queen of Blades, he doesn?t stand a chance.

Some heroes are just in different leagues. My goal with these tweaks is to even it out so not one hero is abundantly stronger than another. The silence should help fix that.

Even with that as a silence, Farseer is still better lol.

Another idea to buff Flav.

Right now banish and Flav?s C are fairly useless.

I propose switching out banish for an AoE unit buff. Similar in size to fungal growth, the new banish will reduce enemy spell damage by 40-80% and increase unit damage by 20-40%. Maybe tweak the %?s, but I actually like that concept.

Also maybe swap out the C for a grip like Dehaka?s.

Incin, if you start working on the ult let me know and try to stream it. Can give some opinions live. Not sure what?s possible.

But you really need to fix the aura?s. Way too strong right now. No other army can beat artanis?. In vet lobbies it would be impossible to lose.

My idea is to make each aura like a speed scroll, but not dispellable. That way the auras are not always on.

For example, if you compare Artanis to a hero like Flav, artanis should win 100% of the time. Some heroes are infinitely better than others.

Which brings me to my point. Should individual heroes have the ability to change the course of the game? Heroes like chuck, fatty, artanis give you strong potential to win. Heroes like Templar, flav, and Karras?s for example are rather shit in vet lobbies. It?s just the mechanics behind them. Do we buff the weaker heroes, nerf the stronger heroes, or a bit of both?

Oh shit yea a limit to libs like swarms would be a good idea. Like 4 libs are fine. Late games where people get 8+ is where it gets stupid.

Only two players who focus liberators properly are Someone and Moma too. Everybody else kinda leaves them alone too much.

No I agree liberators should be nerfed. Or maybe removed. Right now they are very strong and very few units can attack them.

Artanis? ultimate is broken yes. But his auras are the most over powered part.

When I play artanis, I only need his ult to get rauders. Once I have rauders I can make enough money with my army. Extra minerals for ult is just icing on the cake.

For reference, artanis with maxed rauders can take out any tier 3 and 4 unit

Spike's lvl 1 & 2 ult is fairly garbage imo. Lvl 3 ult isn't too bad.

Artanis is completely broken imo. Way too overpowered. It is almost impossible to lose a game with him, basically someone just needs to base very early to take him out asap. Not sure how to rework the concept of his hero. Maybe instead of always-on aura's, each aura acts as a dmg/speed scroll and is temp for like 30 secs.

Removing the bounty on artifact wouldn't make any sense. Arti is there to end games early, and isn't always a sure move to end a game. It should stay as is.

Roaches are the worst tier 2 but don't fall prey to PDD and zerg has the best tier 3, 4 and 5. So just the price you have to pay I think.

I like your idea for Dhaka. Although I don't really mind his summons. He isn't a great hero, but also not the worst. I think he should be int based rather than str based so you don't need 2x relics on him to be useful.

Nova needs one point in domination since the dominated unit acts as a detector. Put that unit on patrol near your base and you get perma-scan. Also I always max pulse as the higher it goes the longer it sucks in the enemy hero.
